Dr Dileep Mangira is a consultant gastroenterologist and advanced interventional endoscopist. He has public appointments at the Western Hospital and at Ballarat Base Hospital. He consults at Pentlowe Health, The Specialist Centre, Ballarat.
He completed his physician training and specialist training in Gastroenterology/ Hepatology at the Flinders Medical Centre in Adelaide and undertook three years of fellowship in advanced endoscopy at Alfred Hospital and at Western Health in training EMR, ERCP, EUS and endoluminal stenting. He also trained at Portuguese Institute of Oncology (Portugal) in endoscopic resection of early Gastric, oesophageal and colonic cancerous lesions.
Dr Mangira was admitted to the Royal College of Physicians in 2017. He is currently completing a PhD at the University of Melbourne in collaboration with Western Health, conducting research in endoscopic advances towards achieving safe polyp resection.
Dileep maintains a broad range of interests in all areas of gastroenterology and hepatology, including gastroscopy and colonoscopy, inflammatory bowel diseases (Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis), coeliac disease, reflux disease, functional bowel disorders (including irritable bowel syndrome) and liver diseases.
